Pip Williams - Lost Souls

from The Electro Compendium by Various

/

about

Pip began djing in his early teens, making electronic mix-tapes for friends in the safe confines of his bedroom. After gentle persuasion from his fanbase, live gigs followed including residencies across London and gigs in Europe.

A foray into music production was a logical progression. Drawing on his vast musical influences, Pip began re-editing tracks using old drum machines and a sampler. Then came his own creations, covering a range of musical genres from laid back house and garage melodies to futuristic electro – all characterised by his signature style.

In 2001 Pip co-founded Simplicity Recordings with friend Solaris (of LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records fame). Having run its natural course after a string of successful releases, Pip’s drive to showcase his music was still rampant. This gave birth to his first solo project, record label Shameless Toady.

Focusing on quality electronic movements and embodying an open-minded philosophy, Shameless Toady is gaining well deserved recognition throughout the current electronic music scene. With a string of number 1 releases (Juno singles download sales chart) on Shameless Toady and Binalog Productions and top ten hits on Battery Park Studios and Mars Frequency, Pip is definitely an artist who's star is rising.
